As we’ve noted, the hot rod boat thing is gaining a head of steam and we just dig the hell outta it. A few of the names that keep popping up in the mid-century flatbottom boat scene keep gnawing at us and we finally figured out why: these boat builders were hotrodders first!

Irv Brendel is a good example. Dude ran this bitchin’ little ’34 3-window with a track nose on the Bonneville salt in ’51 before getting into the whole flatbottom boat scene by the end of the decade.
