Dave’s race car

Did we show you Dave Tanimura’s GENUINE So-Cal Speedshop race car? No? OK, well here it is: it’s got all the holy-grail stuff you’d expect and we’ll just let a few snapshots here do the talking. All that polished, original WWII stuff is getting us all misty-eyed and choked up.

It’s gone through several different iterations over the decades, the way all great race cars do, so it’s been restored to its late Forties get-up and he did a great job of making it look as close to the way it actually lived in 1947. No 100-point, soul-removal resto to take the life out of the car, get it? You get the feeling you could just jump in and GO, man. Not afraid to touch it, but keep the kids away from it, too, y’know?

Dave’s planning on bringing this thing to the Grand National Roadster Show in January, so don’t miss the chance to see a real salt flats/drags/dry lakes racer with a ton of great history. Bitchin’ car!
